Introduction of PVC coated wire

Feb 06, 2026

PVC coated wire is made by coating the surface of annealed wire, galvanized wire, stainless steel wire, or other raw materials with a layer of polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene, ensuring a strong bond with the galvanized wire. It features anti-aging, corrosion resistance, crack resistance, and a long service life. Uses: PVC-coated wire can be used for binding in daily life, industrial bundling, protective chain-link fencing, and also for making clothes hangers or handicrafts.

Difference between PVC coating and PVC dipping:
PVC coating: This involves treating the surface of the raw material wire. Solid plastic is melted at high temperature into liquid plastic, the metal wire is immersed in it, and then removed after a period of time.
PVC dipping: This is a surface treatment applied to the finished mesh. The welded or woven wire mesh undergoes a surface PVC anti-corrosion treatment.

Main parameters of PVC-coated wire:
1: Material before coating:
1) Iron wire 2) Galvanized wire 3) Drawn wire 4) Annealed wire 5) Stainless steel wire
The wire gauge, tensile strength, elongation, and zinc coating amount of the material also need to be determined.
Generally, the tensile strength is 350N/MM2-900N/MM2, and the elongation is 8%-15%.
2: Color after coating: Common colors include light green, dark green, gray, and white.
3: Wire diameter before and after coating:
Wire diameter before coating: inner diameter
Wire diameter after coating: outside diameter
Coating thickness (0.4mm-1.5mm), wire diameter tolerance (+0.05mm/-0.05mm Max)
4: Packaging: Refer to the packaging of galvanized wire.
