Heating Furnace Structure

Aug 06, 2025

A heating furnace generally consists of several key components: a radiant chamber, a convection chamber, a waste heat recovery system, a burner, and a ventilation system. The radiant and convection chambers are the primary locations for heat exchange, with the radiant chamber carrying the majority of the heat load, typically 70% to 80%. The burner combusts the fuel, providing the necessary heat for heat exchange. The ventilation system introduces combustion air and exhausts exhaust gases.

In addition, the furnace chamber, enclosed by the furnace walls, roof, and floor, directly heats the material. The furnace walls, roof, and floor are collectively referred to as the furnace lining, and their material and structural design are crucial to the efficiency and lifespan of the heating furnace. Furnace tubes, which are the medium through which the material receives heat, are divided into radiant tubes and convection tubes. The steel structure serves as the load-bearing framework of the entire heating furnace, bearing all loads, including the furnace lining and combustion equipment.
