Working Principle

The thread rolling machine uses a lever mechanism to drive a movable thread rolling plate in a reciprocating linear motion, interacting with a fixed stationary thread rolling plate. When the workpiece (a cold-forged blank) is fed between the two rolling plates, as the movable plate moves, the workpiece is rolled and compressed within the thread grooves between the plates, causing plastic flow of the metal material and forming a precise thread profile.

This process is a cold forming process, producing no cutting waste, and resulting in a high-smoothness thread surface with superior strength compared to machined threads.

Core Structure

The thread rolling machine mainly consists of the following parts:

Components | Functional Description

Transmission System | The motor drives the crankshaft or eccentric mechanism through pulleys, gears, etc., converting rotary motion into the reciprocating motion of the thread rolling plates.

Crank Arm Mechanism | The core transmission component, driving the moving thread rolling plate to perform precise reciprocating motion.

Working Part | Includes the moving thread rolling plate and the fixed thread rolling plate (also called the tooth plate), which is the key component for direct thread forming. It is usually made of high-hardness materials such as Cr12MoV, with a hardness of HRC60-62.

Feeding Mechanism | Automatically feeds the blank into the working position between the two thread rolling plates. It usually adopts a vibratory feeder and guide trough structure, with an accuracy of ±0.05mm.

Frame and Guide Rail | Supports the entire machine and ensures motion accuracy. The gap between the slider and the guide rail is usually less than 0.02mm.
