Key Components of the Packaging Line
Box Magazine (Feeder): A vertical stack where flat-packed cardboard boxes are stored. A vacuum suction arm "picks and erects" the box into a 3D shape.
Pusher Mechanism: Once the hydraulic forming machine cuts a strip (typically 50 or 210 pins), a servo-driven pusher slides the strip into the open box.
Flap Folding & Gluing: The machine automatically folds the small side flaps and the main top flap. For office staples, a small dot of hot-melt glue is often applied to keep the box closed.
Inkjet/Laser Coder: As the box moves along the belt, a sensor triggers a printer to apply the Batch Number, Expiry/MFG Date, and the staple type (e.g., "24/6 Copper").
Maintenance Checklist
Vacuum Filters: Clean the suction cups daily. If they lose grip, the box won't open, causing a pile-up.
Glue Nozzle: If using hot-melt glue, purge the nozzle at the end of each shift to prevent clogs.
Sensor Alignment: Ensure the "Product Present" sensor is clean so the machine doesn't try to box a "ghost" strip.
